Japan is a vegan paradise with delicious onigiri, geisha girls, and gorgeous cherry blossom trees. One of my all-time favourite things about the country is its minimalist street food experience. 1. Onigiri
Onigiri is one of my favourite food items in Asia because they are just the most convenient thing ever. It’s like a giant triangle-shaped rice ball filled with tuna, salmon, or whatever else you want inside it.
2. Mount Fuji
If you love hiking, sleeping under the stars, and breathing fresh air, this is the place for you. The view of Mount Fuji is beautiful any time of day, but one good sunset can make it even more sublime. You could go the easier way and spend a few nights in Fujiyoshida.
3. Arashiyama Bamboo Forest
The place to be if you want to feel like you’re in a jungle, although, of course, you’re really in Japan. Depending on the time of year, it can be a relaxing and calm experience with some falling leaves on the ground or autumn colours, which I find more breathtaking.
4. Nara Old Town
Nara is famous for its deer park, which you can walk around 24/7. It’s a little small, but it gets the job done. The city has a lovely old-fashioned feel, and I suggest staying here for more than one day.
5. Kofukuji Temple
Nara’s temple is more minor than Kyoto’s Fushimi Inari Shrine, but still worth seeing if you’re into that kind of thing. Many shrines, temples and parks dot the land of Japan and are a great way to get away from the city.
6. Fukuyama Ramen Museum
Now, this is a museum I can get behind! You can eat your fill of ramen while interactively learning about ramen history. Just beware that this place gets busy and might make you want to stay forever! The food is delicious, but you only get one bowl of ramen when you order, so there is better value for money than this.
7. Geisha
If you’re like me regarding art, classical music and Japan’s popular Geisha culture, then this is the place for you. To put it bluntly and simply, a Geisha is trained in singing and dancing.

If you enjoy exploring a new place and learning about the culture, then Japan is beautiful. Its history, food, and people are unique! One thing that I love about it is how it’s so different from the rest of Asia but yet similar at the same time.
